Tehran is the last capital of Iran, former known as Persia. This town doesn't seem to have a "center". The actual one is the Khomeyni Square, an ugly bus stop.
The Golestan Palace (also known as "The Roses Palace ") was built during the Qâdjâr period. Now, this building is under restauration and is an very interesting ethnographic museum.
Close to the Golestan, is located the bazar. The bazaris (merchants of the bazar) are very powerful and control 1/3 of the land's economy.
The traffic in Tehran, as in the rest of the country is totally crazy.
... fortunately, there are some nice borough, like Tajrish , in the North...
... or Darband.
