Tartus is considered as a beach resort in Syria. The town seems to be more relax than in the rest of Syria.

The town was founded by Phoenicians. After, the town was under control of Greeks, Romans, Arabs and then of the Crusaders .

Axtually, Tartrus is the second port of Syria.
