Iquique
Go to the mining towns or ghost towns or... the nitrate towns : Humberstone and Santa Laura.
Close to the bus station, we have the cathedral.
Now, we go the Plaza Prat with some nice buildings... The inside of the Spanish Club is very nice : the ground-floor is a restaurant. From the Plaza Prat, take the calle Baquedano. You will see a lot of nice buildings in wood, built between 1880 and 1903. It's the witness of the wealth of Iquique when the city was a hub of the trade of nitrate coming from Humberstone and Santa Laura. Those houses belonged to the "nitrate barons".
