Death Valley and Moon Valley
At the end of the day, you can leave San Pedro de Atacama to go to the Death Valley (Valle de la Muerte) and to the Moon Valley (Vallee de la Luna). Landscape is very nice (even if I found them less impressive than the Jordanian deserts).This is one of the most arid region of the world.
